Международный исследовательский проект «SusWalFood: анализ и устойчивое использование питательного потенциала и малоиспользуемых видов растений орехоплодовых лесов Кыргызстана». Не полная занятость по контракту  в течение 24 месяцев, неполный рабочий день.  Успешный кандидат будет иметь возможность продолжить академическую квалификацию (например, докторантуры совместно с учеными Университета  Рейн-Ваал) и опубликовать результаты в научных журналах.

Scientific Assistant (m/f) Project coordinator of the international research project «SusWalFood: Analysis and sustainable utilization of the nutritional potential and secondary plant compounds in underutilized plant species of the walnut-fruit forests of Kyrgyzstan» TV-L EG 13, (prospective duration, subject to project approval) limited contract for 24 months, part time with 25 % of the average weekly working hours of a full time employee.

 

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to pursue his/her own academic qualification (e.g., doctoral studies jointly supervised by scientists from Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciencs and a German or international university) and to publish the results in scientific journals.

 

In the SusWalFood project, 11 partners from Germany, Central Asia and the Czech Republic collaborate to jointly contribute to the development of nutritious food from wild wild plant species (fruit trees, shrubs, herbs) of Kyrgyz walnut forest ecosystems. The aim is to improve local food security, to support the protection and sustainable management of these biological resources and to develop new sources of income for the local population.

 

Your tasks:

− Design the research approach and conduct the research work within the project

− Closely cooperate with the European and Central Asian companies, universities and institutions involved in the project for data collection and data analysis

− Present research results at workshops and conferences and publish results in national and international academic journals

− Supervise Bachelor and Master theses on topics related to the project

− Support project management and reporting activities

− Support the organization and implementation of project workshops

− Assist in attracting additional third-party funding.

Your profile:

− Above average university degree in agricultural economics or related disciplines

− Analytical and conceptual skills, familiarity with inferential statistical methods and quantitative simulations, including relevant software

− Practical experience with methods of empirical social research

− Strong motivation to conduct and publish high-quality academic research

− Work experience in the agribusiness, development or academic sector in Central Asia is of advantage

− High autonomy, responsibility and team spirit

− Very good English and German skills corresponding to level C1 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages; knowledge of Russian is of advantage

 

Those applicants, whose native tongue is not German, shall at least have basic knowledge of the German language.
