Uranium tailings storage rehabilitation completed in Kajisai

— BISHKEK (AKIpress) – Rehabilitation of the biggest in Kyrgyzstan uranium tailing storage located in Kajisai village has been completed, reported the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations on March 29, 2006.About 2 years ago the US Government allocated 400,000 US dollars to the International Scientific Technical Center to implement this project. The main goal of the project is to show effectiveness of rehabilitation works at the tailings storages at the international level. The project was implemented by the Kyrgyz specialists in consultation with scholars of University of California.
